June 1, 2010- BiPro:The “Whey” To Go- What’s Different Than Other Whey Proteins?

Hey Ya’ll!
Hope your Memorial Weekend was great! I can’t believe it’s already June. Did you know it’s Dairy Month? June Dairy Month, an annual celebration that began in 1937, is traditionally a time to reflect on dairy foods and the industry that makes it possible. So I want to give a “Shout Out” to all the dairy farms, farmers, cows, and families that work so hard year round: 365 days a year, 24 hours a day to produce the best quality milk. Without their hard work, we definitely wouldn’t have whey protein (by-product of the cheese making process) which means we wouldn’t have BiPro…so again it all goes back to thank those lovely cows!

I am often asked what makes BiPro different than other whey proteins? The answer boils down to one word: UNFLAVORED. Well there are lots of reasons which I will touch on, but the simplest answer is that unlike other whey proteins you will find at GNC or other supplement stores, BiPro has no flavor. Most other brands have a chocolate or vanilla flavor which doesn’t give you many options of ways to incorporate it into your diet. Since BiPro is unflavored, you can add it to a variety of foods and beverages. A few of my favorites are 8 oz of Chocolate Milk, Strawberry Milk, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Crystal Light as well as oatmeal, and pudding. Be sure to visit our recipe page to see other yummy recipes!

BiPro has only 80 calories per 22 gram serving and is 100% natural. Other whey proteins can be as high as 300 calories per 22 gram serving. This is due to the artificial sweeteners, fillers, and bulking agents present in them.

BiPro is manufactured through a patented ion-exchange process vs. microfiltration. How do the two differ? The ion exchange process is a gentle process that “isolates” whey proteins to the highest level of purity available from fat, lactose, etc., resulting in pure, high quality whey protein. The microfiltration process is a separation technique that “concentrates” the protein based on the size of material that can fit through pores in a membrane, using pressure. This “concentrates” the protein, but results in a lower level of protein and higher levels of fat and lactose compared to the ion exchange process.

BiPro is an isolate vs. a concentrate. Benefits of an isolate:
• Purest form of whey protein available
• Fat free, lactose free, carb free
• Excellent amino acid profile
• More protein per serving
• Ideal for both muscle building & fat loss
A concentrate is higher in fat and carbs than a whey protein isolate. It also contains more calories per serving coming from fat.

Finally, BiPro is gluten-free, allowing you to add it into your recipes as your source of protein.

So there you have it whey protein peeps. BiPro is clearly the “whey to go” when choosing the best whey protein! Be sure to send me your questions and comments. I am always happy to answer them! And remember the next time you drink that cold glass of milk- say a little “thank you” to the cow that made it happen!
That’s all for now!

Hugs,
BiProUSAGirl
