May 24, 2010- Why Whey Is “Whey” Safe

Greetings again from BiProUSA Girl! So I have come across a lot of questions lately regarding whether or not whey is safe to consume. Read on for lots of important information regarding whey protein and what it means to you!
Ask any health expert and they’ll tell you protein is an important nutrient needed by everyone on a daily basis. Protein is the “building block” for healthy bodies and contributes largely to a number of vital body functions, including proper metabolism, cell repair and muscle and bone health.

Most people get their daily-recommended amount of protein from foods such as eggs, fish and beef. But others, especially athletes and those who are watching their weight, may want to incorporate more protein into their diet without adding extra calories.

This is why so many athletes and health-conscious individuals turn to whey protein. Whey protein is a high quality protein powder from cow’s milk and offers all the branched chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, valine) that are taken up by muscles during strenuous exercise. Replacing these amino acids before and after exercise is vital in combating fatigue and repairing and rebuilding lean muscle tissue.

Adding whey protein to the diet is also a great way to jump-start a weight loss program. Studies have found that individuals who combine diets with leucine rich protein foods, like whey protein, and exercise have more lean muscle tissue and they lose more body fat. Whey protein also helps promote satiety, or a feeling of fullness, which can help with portion control and combat cravings.

So this is all great…. But is whey protein safe? Whey protein is a complete high quality protein and has no known side effects. However, if you have an allergy to dairy protein or need to restrict dairy products for medical reasons, consult your physician first. This is a safe and natural choice for those looking to build muscle, lose weight or just live a healthier life! For more information, check out these websites for more information:

Comments:

My dad just had four-valve heart bypass surgery. He doesn't want to eat much so I brought over the BiPro and made a shake for him with fruit, non-fat yogurt and extra fiber and he loves it. My mom plans to make one every day. His digestive system seems to be getting back to normal and I know he feels better. It feels good to know he is getting needed nutrition and a quality product. I use it for my 14-year-old during football season as well. Thanks!
